Today our teacher was Mr Reddy and it was fun because he is a lot of help to us, We did new maths today with my group and it was more harder then what we do with Kelly, I think Mr Reddy had no idea of what he was doing but I still give him a 9 out 10.

KWL

Today we were doing a KWL on the book called Polynesian navigators. Here is  my KWL that I did with the help of Stephney:

Here is the work I have done based on the book we have been reading about:

Imagine being on a canoe with dozens of people for weeks.

What would make it hard?  The canoe might not be strong enough and they can only take as much food as they can.

What would make it easier? They will have enough help to help them on sea.

What would be the biggest challenge? The biggest challenge would be feeding a lot of people.

Why did Polynesian decide to explore the rest of the Pacific? To discover the different island of the pacific.

Discuss some of the challengers that early navigators will have experienced? Some of the boats would start to debris and they only called have a certain amount of food on the boat and also they called only drank rain water that they caught in a bucket when it was raining.

What kind of skills did navigators need?Navigator needed to be able to discover  how to be able to use the star, sun, waves and birds to help them navigate themselves to were there destination is.

If you were a sailor, would you prefer to sail on cloudy days or at night? I would prefer to go sailing at night because I understand how to get somewhere using stars, more than I do with the clouds and the sun.

How reliable would bird movement be for navigating?   When you look at birds it helps the sailors because birds always fly towards land which then give a idea to the sailors that the direction of where land is, is where the bird is going.   

Kiwisports-Kio rahi

IALT: blog about kiwi sports today.

Today me and my class did kiwi sports, for kiwi sports we have been playing a game called ki o rahi and it is a game that is based on a Maori legend from ages ago. I had a lot of fun but there was a problem because I was bumped into Kordell, I was hurt and a bit dizzy but with the help of Stephney, she was able to help me up and for that I like to say THANK YOU!.

Kia manawanui syndicate

This year I am in the kia manawanui syndicate and I really enjoy it. My teacher is Ms Aireen and I think she is a cool teacher. I have made friends with some year 8 and getting to know them has been fun. I am going to miss the year 8 next year, when I become a year 8 next year.

We also have a new teacher and his name is Mr J, I think he is also a cool teacher and it's been fun having him as my teacher and I think the cool thing about him is the accent he has.

My role model

I have a role model and my role model is Stephen Curry. Here is my writing that explains reasons and examples why Stephen Curry is my role model.

A role model who inspires me is Stephen curry.He is professional basketball player and also is a respectful and loyal to his fans and he shows positive.sportsmanship want he plays.  

Stephen curry is a professional basketball player.He  played for the golden states warriors.He has been committed with this team for four years. He has been showing professional skills on and off the courts.He has been able to shoot from half courts and from the end of the courts and he can jump high and dunk in to the hoop.He trains everyday with his coach  so he can get better and better and better at being a good player when he plays and keeps on showing good work at sport.

Another reason why he is my role model that I look up to is because Stephen Curry has shown respectful,positive relationships with his teammate and  he shows it on and off the courts.An example Stephen Curry showing respect to his teammates, couch and to his fan is when he gives them all in his all in every game and he makes sure he cares for others on the court if the get injured. Another example is how he treats his fans, he treats his fans like his family, he signs on their clothes, shoes and other things, His fans love getting his autograph and  taking photos with him.

My last reason why Stephen curry is my role model is because he shows good sportsmanship. He shows many good sportsmanship on and off the court which represent the value of Whanaungatanga. An example of how he shows good sportsmanship is when he plays and cares for others.Stephen curry is one of the best basketball players and is good at dribbling.

Stephen Curry is someone that I feel like is amazing to me. Stephen has made me feel like I can play basketball and my friends says that I’m good at playing basketball too.

Study ladder

Study ladder is fun to do and it's more fun to do it with kelly. On study ladder we do maths and I don't really like maths because it's hard but I still try my best to do it. I get help from my other classmates and from Kelly because I'm in her group.

I enjoy doing the fun things on study ladder. The thing I find challenging is trying to find the answers outfast, but I know that learning takes time and also finding the answers to my strategys.

New Zealand

I am going to be blogging about the history of New Zealand. I have been working with Lopiseni.Here is our presentation that we have done together. I enjoyed working with Lopiseni and it has been really fun.

I am new to New Zealand and I still learning the proper english and I think this country is fun.

Doing our play- Kele's car.

Today me and my reading group shared our play to the classroom. We showed the play Kele's car. I played vika.It was fun and cool to play with my friend lopi. 

I enjoyed doing the play with my friends in my reading group and I also enjoyed doing it in front of the class. The thing that was hard for me was that I wasn't that confident and I was thinking if i do this next time I will be more confident and louder.
